Missing Piece’s emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration and commissioning gives them a unique perspective on new music performance & entrepreneurship

Dan & Kelly currently coach students of all ages as co-founders of the Bridgeport Music Collective, and formerly served as directors of the Urban Prairie Waldorf School orchestra. Other notable residencies include Tulane University ([month] 2025) and the Medina Public School District ([month] 2025)Working with students is one of the main ways in which Missing Piece has developed their approach to making new music collaborations accessible and personable.

Missing Piece is available for coaching, workshops, and guest lectures in the following areas:

-Early Childhood Music (no music experience necessary)

-Introduction To Strings (Early Childhood & K-12, no music experience necessary)

-Introduction To Improvisation (Beginner to advanced performers)

-Solo, Chamber Music, & String Orchestra Coaching (Beginner to advanced/K-12 to collegiate)

-Career Coaching for String Players (advanced/collegiate)

-String Composition Workshops & Readings (advanced/collegiate)

These offerings can be scaled to fit one class, a week, or an extended residency. 
Workshops may including coaching, performance, and presentations, including features such as: 

  • Educational concerts for all ages, 

  • Performance lectures, 

  • Facilitating group conversations about music

  • Participatory community music experiences

  • Group improvisation

  • Deep listening practice

  • Lectures incorporating music history and performance, 

  • Lectures educating audiences on the intersections of music theory and music performance.
